I’ve been thinking about a decision which I currently face…
I came onto LinkedIn as I was in the midst of my thinking and saw the above quote in another featured article…
It has cemented my thinking…
Letting go…
Starting over…
Doing what we can do to make a difference…
Putting all our energy into this…
When there is a roadblock and you have done everything you possibly can to remove it and make progress in a direction which will be beneficial and you are resisted, let it go…
Start over…
Create something new…
Do your own thing…
If the passion is strong enough in you then you will succeed…
You have to, for you know that you believe in it…
And it is the right thing…
At the beginning of this year when we went on a road trip as a family all the way up to Kerikeri, Bay of Islands where we used to live for awhile back in the day, I had the sense that for me this was a year of change, for others also, but definitely for me…
It certainly has been to date and I’m really enjoying the opportunity to do what I’ve been doing…
When I shared with someone I respect that I believed it was a year of change they replied that they believed it was a year of opportunity, I see the wisdom in this response…
But when it comes to perpetuating the old because it is safe rather than reaching out for the new even though it is risky, I have chosen to reach out for the new and ‘own it’ rather than perpetuate someone else’s vision which I no longer share…
The motivation…
The author of the above quote was onto something…
The passion we feel for causes and visions is what gives us the ‘x-factor’ to be different and to do innovative things…
It drives us to achieve what we can see in our heads…
To materialize it, no matter what the obstacles, to keep knocking on however many doors it takes to find others of similar beliefs and passions to together achieve great things which will benefit humankind and protect the environment in which we live…
Work in freedom…
If something is ‘doing it for you’ and working in terms of a business relationship then stick with it but if there is that continual ‘drag’ of being resisted and restrained from being able to achieve the potential you can see (and you know what you’re doing is right) then look elsewhere for business partners with whom you do not feel that restraint (you will find them somewhere, the world is a big place)… 
Go where there is freedom and a mutual desire to accomplish the vision which you share…
Partnerships will always be important, no one is an island…
My prayer…
I pray that all of us will find our ‘significant others’ in business and that together, ‘linked-in’ (yes, that was a purposeful pun) we will achieve great things…
Let’s not waste more energy on what takes away our energy, let’s invest our energy where there is likely to be a return and by a return I mean an emotional return also not just a financial one, an emotional one of sharing the journey and the success with others who share the vision…
